Tournament Formats

Mashharder supports multiple tournament formats to fit different competitive needs. Organizers can create brackets (single or double elimination) for fast and exciting knockout play, run league systems like round robin or Swiss for fairer, long-term competition, and track results with a leaderboard that ranks players or teams across matches, circuits, or full seasons. Each format is designed to give hosts flexibility while ensuring players stay engaged and fans can easily follow the action.
FormatDescription
BracketPlayers compete in knockout matches where winners advance and losers are eliminated (or move to a loser’s bracket in double elimination). Fast and exciting, ideal for quick events.
Round RobinEveryone plays everyone — fairer than elimination formats, ensuring consistency and balance, though it takes longer with larger groups.
Swiss SystemPairs players or teams with similar records each round instead of everyone playing everyone. Great for large events, offering fairness with fewer matches than round robin.
LeaderboardAll players or teams start at the same time (like racing or score-based games). After each round, only the top performers advance, and the process repeats until a final group remains. This format highlights consistency and survival under pressure.
VersusA head-to-head format that can be 1v1, custom group vs group, or team vs team. Simple and flexible, perfect for show matches, rivalries, or standalone competitive sessions.
