Default Beatmania IIDX 15 DJ Troopers

How big is the beatmania community here exactly? Is is big enought to merit the investment of the new beatmania machine?

We are thinking about it at the moment. Our decision really depends on the community...

Everyone's input?

Beatmania is a very very fun game that involves 7 keys in the shape of keys on a piano and a spin disk. On the screen notes move down to a line and when the notes are there you press the corresponding key with the beat. Also when a spin disk note comes down you spin the disk.

Its basically like Popn music except with really good songs. Alot of DDR comes from beatmania so alot of songs will be reconizable if you play ddr. i am not that good yet but it is still a blast.

Heres a video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih-WpTZcFIQ
Dont be discouraged though cause this guy is amizing.

I think it's a fantastic idea or an investment. Beatmania has very few locations in Houston (Hell, the only one I know of is at Memorial City and it's not even IIDX style). A few of my friends already have the Japanese versions on their PS2s and I think it would attract more people. Since PZ already has most of the other current music games, this one would finalize its position in Houston as the reigning arcade. I'm still fairly unskilled as players go, only on 5's and 6's, but I would love to see it there.

However, I would prefer an ITG dedicab, but that's another story. ^_^ Beatmania would be a fantastic addition to PZ though.

i imported myself a controller and a bunch of games a long time ago and love it, and everyone ive ever showed it love it too.

basically anyone who is an active bemani gamer will end up finding their way to it one way or another, be it through importing, playing crappy bm 3rd at memorial city or (in my case) driving my ass out to ingram park mall in SA to play it ;x

im not really sure about iidx 15th, because i havent heard anything about it yet, but a new mix is always good.

(i also think an itg2 dedicab would be amazing, but good luck with that lol)

a iidx machine would cost a lot to get from what i hear, but the kind of rabid fanboys it would bring would be more than worth the money.

(including myself)

I'm really big into IIDX at home, and though I'm only in Houston for about 1/3 a year (my family is in Houston, but I attend UT Dallas), I'll play the hell out of any IIDX arcade machine I can get.

IIDX in Texas is scarce as hell. There used to be a somewhat junky 8th Style machine in Arlington, but when that arcade closed down, it moved to an arcade in San Antonio (at least, that's what I have heard; in any case, the only IIDX arcade machine in Texas is that one in San Antonio, whereever it came from). If you guys get DJ Troopers, I think you'd see a lot of people coming to PZ just to play it. You guys heard about the IIDX GOLD Location Test in Naperville, right? That place isn't the most happening of places, yet people came in from around the country to play it. IIDX fans are pretty diehard, and I wouldn't be surprised if people came from around Texas (and other states even) just to play DJ Troopers. And hey, once they set foot inside and see that this isn't some hole-in-the-wall arcade, you'll get some major word-of-mouth out there (at least in the BEMANI community), which will attract more customers.

I know the pricetag is big, but if you can afford it, to me, it seems like a win-win situation.
