good lord Argentina just tooled Serbia-Monte Negro BADLY. 6 - 0.... SIX to zero! it wasn't even funny. the ref felt so bad he blew the game whistle the moment the clock struck 90 minutes, instead of adding any extra time to the clock. looks like Argentina advances.

Next up is Netherlands vs. Ivory Coast in what seems to be africa's number one team out of the 5 african teams. supposedly they have the best chance to go the farthest of the five, so i shall root for them to mashharder on netherland.

coming up at 1:55pm is Mexico vs. Angola. i like burritos so i'm cheering Messico on to victory! i see those dudes playing soccer on a field ALL THE TIME, so with all that practice they better do well. :p

those darn filthy dutch just scored 2 goals in the first 26 minutes of the match. tisn't looking good for the lion dodgers =(

nice, the Ivory Coast isn't giving up without a kick-fest. some dude just boomed the ball into the dutch net from about 25-30 yards away! good game only 40 minutes in.


btw - listening to the game being called by this old irish guy is hilarious. its like at any moment he's going to tell me where the pot o' gold is hidden and he keeps calling the soccer ball "the ol' onion bag" ..... awesome.

well yes and no. yes because they tied and they will go on to the next round. no because REALLY they should have lost. the Korean goal keeper stopped a goal attempt from France but caught the ball behind the white line of the goal = france scored 2 goals but only 1 was awarded. France got hosed. ah well, no worse than the US team getting hosed by the ref who likes to take bribes =(

conclusion- it takes at least 10 guys from italy to keep australia scoreless, but it only takes 1 ref to give italy a PK and crush the aussies hopes and send em home.
